Who is Rose?

26 year old female from Baba Amr, Jobar, Homs, Syria. 

Pharmacist. Youth development worker.

I used to work with groups across Syria between 2011 to 2013 creating newsrooms, translating, documenting Assad crimes, working with the media and being a face of the revolution in the UK supporting my brothers and sisters in Syria. During this time we lost a lot of family members and the regime is completely reaponsible for the loss of life, for those still missing till today and those displaced.

Since 2013 I have focused on refugee work and charity work inside Syria. I visit Lebanon regularly to work with refugees and am currently working on projects with local groups in the UK for resettling Syrian refugees. 

This is my Syrian side of life 🙂 it is my life.

أكتر جملة بكرهها هيه (في غيري) .. الدين واضح ومبني على عمل الخير وحب الأخرين ومساعدة المسكين ونصر الضعيف والمظلوم وين ما كان .. يعني لو إنت مسمي حالك مسلم شي ولو مسمي حالك مؤمن شي تاني .. المؤمن المسلم بيصلي وبصوم وبيعمل كل الفرائض وكمان بيحاول يعيش متل ما عاش حبيبنا محمد صل الله عليه وسلم .. منو منتعلم كل شي من كيف ناكل ونحكي لكيف ننصر المظلوم ضد الظالم .. الله يهديني ويهدينا جميع .. والحمدلله على نعمة الإسلام .. والحمدلله إنو ربنا ختارنا نكون بهل إمتحان مشان يوم القيامة ننرفع درجات مع الشهداء .. أنا بفضل موت وأنا عم حاول .. وبفضل ينحكى عني (مجنونة من كتر ما بتساعد الناس) من إنو ينحكى عني (يييي دخيل الله شو ست بيت رائعة) .. لأنو أنا بعيش مرة بس وبدي أعمل كل شي بيرضي ربي بهل حياة القصيرة .. بتمنى كون أم وزوجة واخت وصديقة وامرأة دارسة ومثقفة متل زوجة الرسول، خديجة رضي الله عنها .. الله يحمي بلدي سوريا وينصر الشعب عل ظالم

Seeing the massacre in Izra’, Daraa in April 2011 was the turning point for me. Since that day my life changed and has solely been divided between supporting the revolution everyday and attending to my studies and work.

I help on many levels in the revolution, but as my religion teaches me, intentions are what count, so I will not list my work as I do it for God and my country, only.

That is also why I don’t write in my real name, so that all I do continues to be with clear intentions…Once we use our names, pride can overcome us while people die in beautiful Syria. A good example is the corrupt opposition around the world.

I want Assad and his criminal gang executed. I want ISIS destroyed.
